The Black Dog Livestock Education’s aims are:

• Reduction of Workplace Health and Safety Issues- by minimizing the potential of staff injury & stress, with less unpredictable, more manageable livestock.
   

• Proactive Animal Welfare- by teaching observation and stock handling/stockmanship skills.
   
• INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY- by reducing animal stresses contributing to weight loss & carcase damage; and maximising intake and digestion with a calm animal.
   
• REDUCE COSTS – by increasing labour efficiency through time saved mustering & handling livestock, and reduce vehicle wear & tear / damage etc.
