Sean & Evonne Barrett are highly experienced stock people who have
been working together as a team since 1994. Sean completed Emerald
Agricultural College in 1989, and Evonne worked on her family
property near Gympie in southeast Queensland for a number of years.
Married in 1996, Sean and Evonne began educating livestock and
contract mustering around Australia.
In 2002 Sean and
Evonne were blessed with the birth of their first daughter Grace. The
decision was made to settle down, and the family were offered a
position at Sommerville in Richmond North Queensland for Tony and
Mandy Mott. Being a property with cell grazing, Sean really enjoyed
the opportunity as cell manager and learnt a massive amount about
herd psychology and improving the land for future generations.
In a bid to get
closer to their families they accepted a position of Overseer for
the Viner family. In 2004, after the birth of their second
daughter, Jade, the property was placed on the market and Sean and
Evonne accepted a managers’ position for the Anstey family property
Eskdale, in the Brisbane Valley. By 2006, Sean was asked to do
schools and weaners again, and after some consideration they decided to go
back to contracting.
Now residing near
Gympie, Queensland, Sean is doing most of the travelling even though
in 2006 the family joined him for a run to the southern states for
schools and contract sheep work.
